Life is an ANDVENTURE with ADDY

The Words Adventure and Adelyn mean close to the same thing. Each morning, I wake up thinking I wonder what fun we will have today, what mess will be made, or what 2 year old adventure we will have. Trust me, I have had lots of experience with two year olds. I use to teach preschool to 12 two year olds at one time and I have had 3 (before Addy) kids that have all been two. I have survived! None of this has prepared me for this wonderful little girl. She is amazing to say the least. She makes us laugh so much and I usually end up spending time cleaning up her crazy messes each day. She loves to empty her big brothers underwear and sock drawer hourly because she knows that he keeps his special toys in there away from where no one can get to them. He didn't fool her. She loves shampoo whether she is in the bathtub or out. So with that, this morning I was paying some bills on the computer and I heard the water running in the kids' bathroom. I knew that it was her playing in the water and making a huge mess like she does daily. I really don't mind that she plays in the water, sometimes my thinking is whatever will keep her occupied. I finally went in there to check on her and found this......

I guess that she really wanted a bath. She had the water running and a toothbrush with her. She also had thrown her diaper away like a big girl but she also decided that her PJ's belong in the garbage as well. She is one funny girl.



Introducing the BIG GIRL BED. She is so excited to have a princess bed - that is what she calls it. Over all, she has done pretty well but we have had Desitin and Lotion smeared all over her room. We have had lots of cloths dumped out on her floor along with every toy imaginable. We have had a few other messes that I won't mention - They were not funny at all! :)

Out with the Old and In with the New

We had a wonderful New Year's Eve. We enjoyed our time with some good friends. We played some fun games and ate some good food. What more can one ask for. We were able to spend our evening with our kidos and some wondeful friends that we don't always get to see very often. 2009 was a great year for our family and I hope that 2010 is even better. I hope that it is a wonderful year for all of my friends and family who read our blog as well! Jeffery R. Holland had such an amazing article in the Jan. Ensign that really touched my heart. It has helped me to focus my life for this new year. He said, "The past is to be learned from but not lived in." He also said, "Don't miss the here and now and tomorrow because we are so trapped in the there and then and yesterday.." He says that the best is yet to be and that we should look forward with faith for the future. It was really AMAZING!!

Birthday at FENTONS

Our family loves going to Fentons. We don't normally eat dinner there, we just get the huge Banana Special at all share it. It is huge! Our whole family can barely finish it. For Parker's birthday we took the family out to eat and our friends the Geislers joined us. We had dinner and ice cream. Parker wasn't Sherbet, and that is just what he had - A Cheeseburger and Sherbet. He loved it. On the way there, He kept asking if they were going to sing to him. He kept asking how they would know that it was his birthday. I told him that we would tell them. He had a pretty good birthday. We were going to go overnight at the snow, but Taylor was sick so we had to postpone that trip until another week. Fentons was a good substitute.

Parker is 5

It's kind of hard to go through old pictures and realize that they don't stay small forever. In fact they grow bigger and get older every day. This little guy is such a blessing in our lives. He came to us with a smile on his face and it hasn't really ever left. He is so happy and easy going. He is a smart little boy that is eager to learn, but he still doesn't want to go to school - at least until he is 5 and 1/2 because he likes staying home with mom. His best friends are Josh and Sterling and they always have a great time when ever they are together. At this time in his life he doesn't really care for girls, except his sisters and even then he tolerates them. He is actually really good with his little sister. He loves to help me cook and won't let him tell him that I don't need help. He just scoots his little chair up and puts his hand on mine while I stir or cook something. He loves breakfast and usually demands it as soon as he wakes up. He barely even opens his eyes before he says "Mom! What's for breakfast?" He is also our comedian. We were in the car a week ago and he managed to kick his brother in the head (Not Very Nice!!). When I was questioning him he just said - "Mom! I have the solution to this whole problem. The solution is I DID not do it." That wasn't exactly right because he did do it but the way he said it was hilarious. He is always coming up with something funny to say and if he doesn't have any new material, we get the old why did the chicken cross the road. However, we can never get it right because the reason always changes.
He is such a joy. Thanks Parker for Loving your mommy! HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Christmas Jammies

Every year our kidos get PJ's for Christmas and they get to open thme on Christmas Eve. They are pretty excited about getting to open that first gift. This is just a quick picture that I was able to get after they tried them on.

Our Visit with Santa

We had a visit with Santa before our Ward Christmas Party. Parker and Taylor just want a Bokugon (I hope that this is how to spell this). Bailey, well, she just sat on his lap for the benifit of Addy. I don't know how well it worked....



We did get her to wave. She was not going to touch that man.
She reluctantly sat on her dad's lap while he sat on Santa's lap :)
She decided it was OK to give him a high five so she could get her candy cane.

I think that she will stick to sitting on her Mama's lap!

Bailey's First Recital and Band Concert

Bailey had her first band concert and her first piano recital. She plays the clarinet for band. She preformed the piano and clarinet at her recital. She did a great job. She played Away in a Manger on the piano and did excellent. She has been working hard on her clarinet as well.
