There cannot be a stressful crisis next week. My schedule is already full.

I just thought that my insanity might bring a smile to anyone who is looking for a laugh. Many people know that our family does not really get along with cars. Let me back you up to last summer. On our way home from our family reunion in San Diego. Our van decided to die. (this is the short version). We barley made it to the only gas station that was in miles. We called a tow truck and my husband just happened to mention that he had his whole family with them. They did not have a tow truck to fit us all, so he brought a Suburban with a tow dolly. Now I am 7 months pregnant with our fourth child. We have a 7 year old, a 5 year old, and a 2 year old. When to "tow truck" came to pick us up and group of men got out and put our car on a dolly to tow us to the next little town. I have never got in a car with strange men not to mention with my little kids. We had no choice. We go to a U-haul rental station in a town called "Los Banos" or in other words the toilet. We rent another dolly and a
U-haul and continue our trip home. Mind you that a U-haul seats 3 people and well... there are 5 of us and remember I am 7 months pregnant and can barley sit still anyways. We load up in the U-haul. Tom had a seat belt, Taylor and Parker shared a seatbelt and Bailey and I shared. No car seats just lots of prayers that we would get home in one piece. I was balling and Tom, my wonderful husband, was singing songs with the kids to try to keep things upbeat. We made it home and our children have it down that when we say duck, they lay their heads down so a cop wouldn't know that we had 5 people (kind of 6) in a 3 passenger vehicle. Tom kept saying we will laugh about this someday. And, I do all of the time (Not then, but now).
Well the saga continues a year later when our Van finally went to it's grave. Last Saturday the transmission went our in it. Tom tried to take it to a repair shop to get it fixed and well, it made it 2 houses down. And there it still sits as I type. However, I can't complain because it went out after all of the soccer games and crazy things that we had going on Saturday. I can only thank my Heavenly Father that it didn't leave me stranded with my children in Sacramento, 30 minutes away.I was really being looke dout for. By the way, Tom's car is also in the shop. Our wonderful parents have let us each use a car from them until we get one car out of the shop and buy a new car. So I am driving around a big diesel truck that is my fathers. Today when I was picking the kids up from school, both of the little ones fell sound to sleep. I had a friend that was going got send Taylor out to the cross walk because he gets out before Bailey. I got out of the truck and left it running because it is a warm day. I took the keyless entry remote with me so my precious kidos would not get stolen. Well my father's truck doesn't work like our car. Little did I know that you can't leave his truck running and lock it and then get back in with the remote. IT DIDN'T WORK. So I was stranded at school with my kids locked in the truck. I am so thankful the the air conditioner was on. I called my dad and he said that he would be there as soon as he could, but try to wake up Parker. I WISH I THOUGHT OF THAT ONE! That kid is such a light sleeper, but he would not wake up for anything. I was yelling his name and pounding on the window. Yes it is official, all of the spectators at the school officially think that I am nuts. As I said a prayer, finally he woke up and when my dad was 2 blocks away. I just have to laugh!!! So this is a farewell to our van. I am so grateful for it because it is the reason (along with no car payment)that we were able to buy the house that we live in. The Lord has to have a sense of humor because my life has some crazy things to laugh at. You can either laugh or cry. Laughing seems to be the best medicine!
